Getting a diagnosis of cancer for yourself or a loved one has to be one of the most frightening experiences in life. Treatment can involve surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and hormonal drugs. During this period, the patient will require extensive support. This will encompass practical assistance, as well as care for their mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Being one of the Complementary Therapies, Reflexology can greatly benefit both patients and their Caregivers. Reflexology for Cancer care is a customized treatment that targets specific symptoms in each session and for each patient.

The Treatment
Each treatment is customized to meet the individual needs and desires of every client. Duration of treatments will depend on the client’s needs/symptoms and will last between 15-60 mins per treatment.  The client is free to sleep or chat about their symptoms during their treatment.

A Luxurious hot towel cleanse is included at the beginning, together with some lovely relaxation techniques, these are also included throughout the treatment. As a result, muscle tension and pain are reduced, which can help improve mood and contribute to better sleep.  Reflexology lymphatic draining may be used or incorporated into the treatment depending on the presenting symptoms.

Please note: prior to commencement of any Reflexology treatment sessions, that a signed medical consent form is required from your Oncologist if you are currently undergoing treatment or GP if you have completed your treatment. Where clients are currently undergoing treatment, I request guidance from the medical team in relation to the best timing for treatments to ensure that the medication has an opportunity to do what it needs to do.

Reflexology does not claim to cure or treat any condition but is an ideal Complementary Therapy in partnership with your medical team.

All treatments are provided in my Therapy room in Ballyjamesduff.  If the client is unable to get to my Therapy room or for end of life care, please contact me to discuss mobile treatments.
