Reflexology is a therapeutic practice that involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet, known as reflex points. These reflex points correspond to different organs, glands, and parts of the body. The primary goal of a reflexology session is to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support the body’s natural healing processes.

At the start of all treatments, there will be a consultation with the Reflexologist and this is always free.

The session usually takes around 1 hour, but please leave 15-20 mins extra for consultation and feedback.

A full treatment costs €50.

What to expect in a Reflexology Session

  • The session begins with a brief consultation where I inquire about your health history, lifestyle, and any specific concerns or areas you would like me to focus on.
  • You will be comfortably seated in a reclining chair, fully clothed except for your shoes and socks.
  • I will then start by giving you a hot towel and a foot cleanse.  I will then examine your feet, looking for areas of tenderness, tension, or possible imbalances.  I will then move onto gently massaging and warming up your feet prior to treatment.
  • Using my fingers, thumbs, and hands, pressure will be applied to specific reflex points on your feet. The pressure can vary from gentle to firm, but I will adjust this based on your comfort level.
  • The pressure applied is believed to stimulate energy flow and encourage the body to restore balance. It is thought that the corresponding organs and systems benefit from this stimulation.
  • Clients often experience a deep sense of relaxation during a reflexology session. Some may even drift into a meditative state.
  • It’s common for reflexologists to ask for feedback during the session or afterwards if you prefer. If you any feel discomfort, tenderness or tension, please say so as it allows me to adjust my approach to the treatment.

After the session

It’s essential to stay hydrated.  You will be offered water and you and I will discuss further sessions with you.  Recommendations for self-care between sessions will also be provided.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology isn’t just a treatment; it’s a pathway to balance and vitality. By applying pressure to specific points on the feet, we stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and enhancing overall health.

Can anyone receive a Reflexology treatment?

The short answer is yes, however there are contraindications to be aware of with specific illnesses, diseases etc. A discussion with your Reflexologist will determine if this is the right treatment for you, or they could tailor the treatments to suit your symptoms.

Are there any side effects with a Reflexology treatment?

In most cases you will feel amazing and rejuvenated with soft spongy like feel to your feet. However, it depends on your body and your health. Sometimes you may feel some discomfort within your body and feel ill as toxins are being removed from the body. This is normal so drinking plenty of water after the treatment will help.

What if I don’t like my feet being touched, or I have very sensitive/ticklish feet?

This is very common, even I have ticklish feet. You will be made to feel relaxed at all times and the actual treatment is not as bad as you may think, so give it a go.
If it’s too much for you, there is always having a Hand Reflexology treatment instead. You will still feel better afterwards but it’s not as intense as on the feet.
